The REAL 27 Dresses (plus one more for good measure!) Couple tie the knot with an astonishing 28 bridesmaids in a wedding straight out of a Hollywood rom-com Romantic comedy 27 dresses starred Katherine Heigl as perennial bridesmaid Jane in the 2008 hit film - when she finally wed herself, Jane had all of the 27 brides she'd been a bridesmaid to back as her own bridesmaids Sarah Hellyer, 37, from Dorset, told husband-to-be Matt, 46, that she wanted 'all' her nieces to be bridesmaids Sizeable family swelled between Matt's proposal and the wedding - 10 years - with 8 more girls in the mix By the time the big day loomed, the couple realised they would have 28 bridesmaids - aged from two to 25 Couple used a vintage bus to transport the bridal party to St Mary's Church in Sturminster Marshall, Dorset The idea of having nearly 30 bridesmaids would leave most brides in a spin - and is so far-fetched it provided the ending in Katherine Heigl's famous rom-com 27 Dresses in 2008
